New Life for Old Church Pews
If you can imagine how uncomfortable it must be to go to worship and have to stand, sit on a plank, or even sit on the floor, you’ll appreciate the gift that the Advent Lutheran Church in Boca Raton Florida has made to a church in Haiti. When they expanded and remodeled their sanctuary, the question of what to do with the old church pews arose. Through the church’s partnership with Food for the Poor (a large international relief agency), the pews were removed and shipped south for continued life supporting the (ahem) backsides in poverty-poverished Haiti, where Hatians will feel the love of their brothers and sisters in Florida.
