Liability insurance mandated
In New York State having liability car insurance is mandatory. I think this is an excellent law because it protects the people from uninsured drivers that may be the cause of any accident. They will atleast have protection for the vehicle they crashed into and that person’s damages will be paid by the other person’s coverage. However, it is not mandatory to insure your own car against your own damages. This is fine considering the fact that you may not drive a vehicle that is worth insuring. Why pay $1,000.00 a year in insurance when the car is only worth $900.00?
