My dad has had several offshore oil rig jobs. He’s gone a lot, but he provides very well for our family. He makes great money doing what he does, so my mom is able to stay home with me and my siblings. If he worked a local job, he wouldn’t make as much money as he does on the rigs. My mom would have to work as well, and we wouldn’t see much of either of them. My dad has made sacrifices for his family, and I respect him for it. I miss him, but I understand why he does what he does.
