New Underwriters Lab Plastic Training
There are some important new plastic training programs now available to the plastics industry that teach the important testing procedures used by Underwriter’s Labs (UL) in there famous testing process. UL has become the defacto standard for product testing in the broad manufacturing category for several years now. Previously there had been a lot of "mystery" around UL’s testing procedures. The idea was that if UL let companies know about its testing procedures, the manufacturing companies could use that knowledge to tailor products to past tests rather than perform safely in the marketplace.
The video training gives manufacturers the opportunity to learn about test procedures and gain a better understanding of UL’s overall evaluation process. A few large companies that are already utilizing this training include Eastman Kodak, BASF and GE Plastics. All have plans to expand their usage in the future.
So many changes are occurring within the plastics industry regarding flame retardant additives and flame retardant guidelines that manufacturers are finding an increased need for a tool that will help them determine compliance throughout their production process. When all is said and done, the early adopters of this training are saying that they have found this video training to ultimately help reduce overall costs associated with training employees and save crucial time in their product design and development efforts.
