Does anyone know any good tricks?

I sometimes see a lot of good deals on eBay, but I usually don’t end up winning the auctions because I keep forgetting to check and see if I have been outbid near the end of the auction. Does anyone know any good eBay tricks to make it more likely you will have the winning bid on eBay auctions? I have heard there are tools on eBay that can help with this, but I don’t really know which tools they are or how to use them. I would appreciate some help since I could always use a good deal when I’m buying something.
