I’m right, No, I’ right
During the earliest years of my bible training the only version available in our church was the King James Version (KJV). About the time I was eight years old the Revised Standard Version (RSV) was introduced and adopted by our church as the official bible for study. Since both Bibles were Formal Equivalence translations and the RSV was based partially on more recently discovered copies of scripture, there were a few vocabulary differences. When this was discovered a schism occurred in the church. The opponents on both sides were not interested in understanding Bible translation differences but in being right. The arguments were not rational but emotional.
